The team and I are incredibly excited to share Studio II Collective’s first feature showcase - Networking Events.
A common aspect of freelance life and community events so it should come as no surprise that we’ve started with Networking. We want this feature to act as one of the strong cornerstones for supporting our community and giving freelancers the opportunity to meet and learn from one another.
This is also why we’re making a tailored approach to the networking events so that they are especially focused around freelance life.
Accountabilty Networking
Each week, come to this session with a goal you want to achieve bynext week. Receive advice on how to meet that goal and in return,give advice to others on their goal. Come back the following weekto discuss a new goal or discuss your progress.
Theme of the Week
We provide the theme, you bring your knowledge and questions. Chat with other freelancers on the given topic to share your expertise or learn from others - we hope it can be a bit of both.
The Creative Crowd
Take a break from talking shop and strike up conversation with afellow creative. Giving the opportunity to learn something fun about others and spark new connections.
In order to make an event schedule as flexible as possible, we’re implementing alternating dates for events. “The Creative Crowd” events will be in the evening however other events will also varyin times week to week. This is again to improve flexibility. Here’s an example of how the schedule will look:
Each of these sessions will run for 1 Hour and rather than being a big room of freelancers, we’ll be seperating the call out into breakout rooms. This is because in our experience we’ve had more enjoyment from smaller group networking rather than 20+ people in one call, all struggling over who gets to speak next.
These events are just the tip of the iceberg for our Networking. The team and I are also discussing how we can best implement in person networking across the UK while also adding other fun virtual networking ideas such as “Speed Networking”.
